Well it’s hard, like JM, to believe it’s already past the halfway point in the year. Where has the time gone?
Well that only means there are some great summer events that everyone should know about. First up is the Erick Mendez Memorial Ride. It takes place this Sunday. Join John from Sunnyside Bicycles at the REI Starbuck’s at 7, or the 007 trail around 8. This is a great ride to remember a friend to many in the cycling and local community. There will be various rides going so everyone should find one that suits them.
Also in full frontal swing is the China Peak Mountain Bike Park. They have done a great job getting things ready this summer. Many have already gone up the mountain to enjoy the great trails and scenery. And I’m not just talking about Rob in spandex!

Also, in August we have the inaugural SAR Wild Run and Ride. This is the first time the Search and Rescue Team will be hosting this event in the local Shaver/Dinky Creek area. There are different trail runs and hikes as well as a timed mountain bike ride. Let’s show some support and help this become a great annual event for us all. And CCORC would like to acknowledge the entire RAAM Team for their great achievement ! This was a great event to raise awareness for such a good cause. Congratulations to the entire team and staff. Great job!
Finally, with the recent events during the Climb to Kaiser ride, we want to make sure everyone is safe when you are out enjoying your bike. We are all so important to many loved ones and we need to be around to enjoy as much as possible for everyone.
